WE FINALLY MET!
We had a great chat about your life and goals in our first step, the Introductory Interview.
We
decided it makes sense for us to work together and it's the right move for us to pursue the next step in our on-boarding process...

the 3 Day Assessment.

This might be considered the most important part of joining our community. It's here that your Coach For Life will truly get to know how you and your body work together to perform movement tasks, solve problems and demonstrate movement competency & proficiency.

In our 3 Day Assessment we cover an unbelievable amount of ground together. You may, in fact, realize that you've never experienced an assessment of your body and it's abilities quite like what we offer in these three sessions. Details about your lifestyle and seemingly unrelated variables that you may have never credited for having any impact on your health, fitness and well-being will likely be uncovered.

Our thorough evaluation of your history and current state of health may include
(or exclude, if deemed inappropriate by you and your coach)...

body measurements and/or reference photos,
functional movement screen,
joint range of motion testing,
work capacity (fitness rating) & strength testing,
nutrition consultation & education,
self-assessment & goal setting,
and more extensive testing or assessment as needed.

It's with the detailed results of your 3 Day Assessment that we're able to take an unbiased, objective view of your ability to train safely. Your results offer us the necessary insights to allow for personalized programming as well as a clearer understanding of what your needs are and how we can best help you succeed.

By the end of the 3rd session, your assessment will reveal the path that makes the most sense for us to follow in order for you to live your best life. We'll discuss our three different routes for joining our community, then assign the most appropriate option to build your healthy lifestyle and level up your fitness. Our available options will be explained in more detail soon, in upcoming posts, but here is a quick glimpse...

Have You Heard About Our Hybrid Memberships?

What is this “Hybrid Membership" thing?...what does that even mean…”hybrid”?

To be honest, we're not really surprised by these questions. In fact, we actually kinda expected them! I mean, how could anyone know what that means? It's not exactly "industry standard" to offer such a thing or to use this kind of language to describe it. We want to change that. We're gonna give a brief explanation as to what we mean by those words and why you should even care or see the VALUE in their offering?

We use the term “Hybrid” in our memberships to refer to the fact that every one of our membership options, since 2017, include not only the camaraderie & fun of our group classes, but also Personal Coaching (or “Training”). These Personal Coaching sessions are in place to offer an opportunity for athletes and coaches to build a rapport and a deeper understanding of each athlete’s needs and goals. This allows our coaches to provide better member services that are more attuned to those needs.

Each of our Personal Coaching sessions (oftentimes referenced as a “PT” session) are a full hour of undivided attention from your coach. A time for individualized screening, assessment and the necessary guidance toward achieving your health & fitness goals.  It’s your best opportunity to bring your coach up to speed with changes in your life, or lifestyle, that may play a role in your success. It’s a perfect time to discuss and evaluate what it is that you're hoping to get out of your training with us? A chance to communicate your questions and concerns, allowing your coach to better serve you and make your experience here at Mahoney CrossFit both enjoyable and productive. It’s also a great opportunity to work with a professional coach to help you set new goals, when you’re not really sure what they should be?

Your coach is there to listen, ask stimulating questions to help inspire and distill your ideas, and orient you in the right direction on the path to your success.

Ultimately, t
his is your hour with your coach!

Here's a few examples of how some of our folks use their Personal Coaching sessions:

Goal setting
Nutrition education & planning
Specific skill & technique development
Individualized programming
Travel workout & eating plans
Core strengthening plan
Body composition testing
Movement screening & assessment
Mobility & stability ideas
Corrective exercise strategies
Injury prevention/rehabilitation
Sometimes just a friendly ear to bend, to chat about real life happenings!

Any of these are sound reasons, but your time is not limited to these examples. Like we mentioned above...it’s YOUR time!

So how often should you meet with your coach? That’s a great question! Part of our enrollment process is discussing the frequency of personal coaching to best meet your needs. We offer a variety of solutions, in the form of our Hybrid Memberships. We work together to find the best fit your goals, schedule, and budget. There is no “right” or “wrong” combination; just the most appropriate or least appropriate and ultimately you and your coach will work together to make that decision.

Our current memberships include the choice of either Unlimited Group Classes or 2 x Week
options, each with Personal Coaching available weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, every 6 weeks, or quarterly.

Our coaches are always here to help answer your questions and offer their professional opinion and insight. We are dedicated to working hard to make your experience at Mahoney CrossFit School of Fitness a great one that you’re proud to tell all of your people about! We hope to see you soon!

Our Enrollment Process

How Do My Friends & Family Join?

It all starts with a desire to help the ones we love and care about most, in our lives.
We want them to be happy and live a great life. We want them to be health, wealthy, and wise ;)
…all we want for them is the
very best!

We, also, know about a great community, of like-minded folks, working hard everyday to be a better version of themselves. A place where we are offered a daily opportunity to grow and develop our character by being challenged physically, mentally… and occasionally… emotionally.  A place that encourages mastery of our minds and bodies. A place that encourages virtuosity - doing the common uncommonly well - teaching skill and technique, offering opportunity for practice, trial and error, failure, discovery, and success!
This place we cherish, this community, is Mahoney Crossfit.

But it’s more than just the facility… or the equipment… or the workouts of the day (WOD)... it’s the people and relationships. Not everybody is deeply connected with everybody, but definitely with somebody, and that somebody is likely a person [or a few people] whom you may never had encountered outside of these walls. That somebody has likely impacted and enriched your life in some significant way. We’ve all experienced it. Now we want other folks to experience it too, but how do we introduce them to all of this?

How do we share this idea with others? How do we introduce our loved ones and close friends, the people we want to be surrounded by, to this community?

It all starts with a referral.

Tell your coach about this person, these people. Share their contact information or give them your coach’s contact info.

Our first step is to schedule a free introductory interview.
(which you can attend with them...we actually encourage it!)

We refer to this first meeting as an “interview” because it’s all about getting to know them and allowing them to get to know us. We want to find out is we are a “right fit” before they ever commit to anything. We want to ensure we can provide them with the knowledge they seek and the experience they want. If not, we want them to know that up front. We know we are not right for everyone and cannot meet everyone’s goals. They need to know that too, so we ask a lot of questions and give a lot of answers to their questions. It usually takes 30 minutes to an hour.

Our expectation is that by the end of our meeting together they are comfortable giving a solid “YES” and are ready to get enrolled!  Anything else is likely a “No”...at least for now...
(Of course, we'll always be here for you when you're ready!)

Hey Salem-Keizer!

I would like to start this off by acknowledging that you are all amazing! We have undergone so many changes recently (and over the last few years) and you've been so flexible and supportive. We may not have expressed it enough, or to the right ears, but it has not gone unnoticed or unappreciated. We value each and every one of you. The heart of this incredible community is YOU!

We hope these news updates and blog posts will help promote a better sense of communication and transparency throughout our community. We hope it offers up some clarity as to our purpose and intentions moving forward; all of the what, where, when, why’s and how's. We also hope it serves to inspire conversations or ideas for how we can better serve your health, wellness, & fitness needs.

So we hope you'll subscribe to our news feed and continue to read on.

Oh yeah...and one more important thing...

...have a fantastic day!
