Apprentice Coach Joe Polander
MadLab PCDP Senior Apprentice, 2022 Bio
My name is Joseph, but you can call me Joe! I started my fitness journey in 2019 and became infatuated with the impact exercise can make on your daily life. Over the course of the following year I took in as much information as I could about improving my health, and eventually became interested in teaching fitness as a profession. In November of 2021 I started personally training the community and instantly fell in love with coaching. Now I'm continuing my journey at IPA and nothing excites me more than the opportunity to truly get to know someone and improve their life. I believe in meeting you wherever you're at and individualizing each routine to best fit your fitness goals. |
Coach Joe Egli
CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, 2019 Bio
Hello everyone, my name is Joe! I'm the owner of Brown Insurance in Woodburn, Oregon. I joined our gym community in August of 2013, I've been hooked ever since! I've been around sports of some sort my entire life, always looking for that next thing, the thing that could carry me into the future as I aged. I tried global gyms & 24 hour fitness centers, but nothing quite fit. Until I heard about Functional Fitness and then came...CROSSFIT! I became a coach in 2019 and continue to pitch in as needed in our community. |
Coach Heidi McCallister
Brand X Kids Coach Certification, 2018 Bio
Hello all, my name is Heidi! I’ve been doing CrossFit for over a decade now, over half of those I have been here, with Iron Phoenix Athletics. Once I started CrossFit, I just couldn’t stop! I absolutely LOVE it! I wanted to be a kids coach for a long time, but my nerves got the best of me. Then, in 2018 I finally made the jump! A few years later our Kids Club is stronger than ever and we are loving every minute of it. |
Our staff has to prove their place among us by undergoing an 18-24 month accredited apprenticeship through the MadLab Group Professional Coaching Development Program. This program involves concepts and critical thinking training in our system and methodologies, education in human movement and exercise sciences, development of effective coaching skills and techniques, supervised individual and group coaching experience, and competency testing procedures.
